Bobby Durham

  • Where I Grew Up [HighTone, 1987] B+

Consumer Guide Reviews:

Where I Grew Up [HighTone, 1987]
In the Nashville pattern, Durham provides the twang, and his producers provide the material. Only this is California, where Durham's been a mainstay of Bakersfield honky tonk since the '60s and his producers feed gritty, well-turned country lyrics to their label's bluesmen. So, no neotraditionalist bullshit--just traditionalism pure and simple. B+
