This distinguishes itself from Seeger's solo Music from the True Vine by gathering famous folk into makeshift supersessions, and from the Dirt Band's Will the Circle Be Unbroken by singling out less surefire songs and musicians. Taught me that I prefer sister Peggy's mournful harmonies ("Texas Ranger") to Maria Muldaur's dulcet ones ("Take Me Back to the Sunny South"), and Mike's acerbic baritone to brother Peter's avuncular pick-'em-up.
