Church of Anthrax [Columbia, 1971]I was impressed to come upon this collaboration between Riley, whose pop avant-garde meditation, A Rainbow in Curved Air, inspired me to concoct the term "semipopular music," and Cale, whose pop avant-garde rock group, the Velvet Underground, should have done the same. Bet the people at CBS were impressed, too. So impressed they put out an album of keyboard doodles posing as improvisations. C
