In God We Trust [Shelter, 1971]
Although he's a white fella, Nix is something of a fixture on the Memphis blues-soul scene, and the music here is passable in the manner of fixtures on the Memphis blues-soul scene--despite a few bizarre and distracting insertions by septuagenarian bluesman Furry Lewis, which constitute an in-joke characteristic of fixtures etc. Its abiding interest is as an almost unfathomable example of downhome antireligious irony. At least I think it's anti. B-
